How the math works

No hidden fees. Every dollar is accounted for on-chain.

Agent spends: $0.0011 per req
Host earns (90%): $0.00099 per req
Platform fee (10%): $0.00011 per req
Fees are settled daily in a single on-chain transaction per host. Agents are debited per-request from their pre-deposited USDC balance. Gas fees on Base L2 are <$0.001 per settlement — negligible.

Common questions

What blockchain is this on?
Base L2 — Coinbase's Ethereum L2. USDC only. Transactions cost fractions of a cent and settle in seconds.
Can I withdraw my balance anytime?
Yes. Hosts can withdraw accumulated earnings daily. Agents can withdraw unspent deposited USDC at any time via the CLI (rentatube withdraw).
Is there a lock-up period?
No. The smart contract holds funds in escrow per settlement cycle (24h). After each cycle, earnings are available immediately.
What counts as a "request"?
Each HTTP request proxied through a host node counts as one billable request, regardless of size. Large responses may be subject to a bandwidth multiplier (coming soon).
What if a host goes offline mid-session?
The proxy layer automatically retries on another available node. You won't notice. You're only charged for completed requests.
Do you take a fee on deposits or withdrawals?
No. The 10% fee is only on completed, settled requests. Deposits and withdrawals only pay Base L2 gas (< $0.001).
